God knows you’ll get tired. That you’ll be bored.
And that’s why He said, keep the fire burning.
Timothy 1:6
That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].

Lately, my pattern of sending newsletters hasn’t been very uniform, and I know you probably don’t know what day or time to expect one from me anymore, even though you get a letter every month. But dearest light, come closer this morning.
Let’s sit together in these words.
The Bible wasn’t created only to ignite your spiritual fire. God is far too brilliant to limit the greatest book in the world to just that. Especially because He desires for us to live balanced lives. And this is why you need to take your place as a Child of God.
On Sunday, I watched a sermon titled “The Right Approach to Money” by Pastor Ibukun Awosika. It focused on our financial lives as Christians, but what stood out to me even more was how she emphasised that the Bible teaches us about everything. Every single thing you want to know about yourself and about life.
All you have to do is search. Seek the truth. Be limitless.
Don’t box God in. Be bold enough to believe that He is in every detail of your life.
In my newsletters, I’ve tried to be as honest with you as I can—sharing what the Holy Spirit permits me to. I’ve told you about days when it’s hard to pray but I still push myself, even when it feels like nothing is happening at first. I’ve told you about returning to acts I know God doesn’t like—habits I’ve already written about. I’ve shared moments of confusion, of dryness, of boredom.
But if there’s anything I want to highlight today, it is this: Keep the fire burning. It must not go out.
It’s 4:13 a.m. now. I just finished reading my Bible and my devotional for today, and the headline read: The fire must not go out.
The very first thing I scribbled was: The Bible teaches us about everything. There is always a godly answer.
And then I read Leviticus 6:12-13:
The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning, the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire. The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.
If you read this beyond its spiritual context, one thing becomes clear—God loves consistency.
And yet, He is also kind enough to know there will be days when we don’t feel like it. Days we’ll be unmotivated to pray, to chase our goals, to grow, to sit in boredom, to forgive, to love.
But His message remains: Keep the fire burning. Keep adding wood. Keep showing up.
Keep igniting that part of you that still believes.
I love God deeply, but there are days when life just gets heavy. Days when all I want on a Sunday is to hide in my safe space instead of going to church. But even then, God whispers: Tell your body and your mind—I don’t feel like it, but I will show up anyway.
Fake it till you make it? Sometimes, yes. But I’d rather call it: press until you become. Because the truth is, the more you seek, the more you find. The more you press in, the more you burn.
Consistency is not just a self-help principle, it’s a divine instruction. One we’re meant to apply across every area of our lives.
Recently, I’ve been learning that feeling good isn’t a requirement for showing up. Motivation doesn’t always come dressed in inspiration. Sometimes, it’s quiet. Sometimes, it feels like discipline. Like a habit.
But when you remember your why, everything shifts. Find a reason rooted in purpose, and alignment will follow.
And if there’s one thing I need you to hold onto today, it’s this: You are allowed to change your life at any time (I badly want to scream this in your ears). YOU ARE ALLOWED TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOR THE PURPOSE OF GOD TO BE FULFILLED! It’s your life. Your growth. You’re not late to the party—just start.
Find the motivation. Find the ability. Prompt yourself.
The God you serve wants you to live a full, balanced life. One where you thrive—spiritually, mentally, emotionally, financially, and socially. When you hunger for the right things, He rejoices with you. And He supports your desires.
So today, just light the fire again. God’s not mad that it went out, He’s glad you’re picking up the match.
I love you, I pray for you, and I'm rooting for you. I genuinely want to see you become better. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Keep the fire burning.
Pick up the match.🥹🥹
This is so apt!
My former pastor, P.Kay would always say,
"Don't feel your way into acting. Act your way into feeling".
Now, more than ever before, it makes more sense.
Keep the fire burning.
